In the spring of 2023, something amazing happened on the Danish music scene: Hans Philip and Jens Ole McCoy aka the hip-hop duo Ukendt Kunstner reunited and released their first record in seven years.
The album, entitled Dansktop, lifted the duo straight back to the top of the Danish music industry – right where they left off when they decided to split ways in 2016. The day after its release, Dansktop had amassed 1,8 million streams, making it the most streamed Danish album in 24 hours ever.
The duo debuted in 2012 and were celebrated for bringing more vulnerability to the hip-hop scene.
Ukendt Kunstner recently won the title as ‘Group of the Year’ at Danish Music Awards and played some of the biggest shows of their career this fall, selling out arenas in both Aarhus and Copenhagen.
The reviews were amazing and cemented the fact that even after a seven year break, Ukendt Kunstner is one of the most influential groups in the history of Danish hip-hop.
