“Minimalistic and, more importantly, angry working class music”.

Using these words, Danish music critic site Soundvenue have often described the Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods, who actually turned up the anger on their latest album UK GRIM from 2023.

War, rising cost of living, inflation, British society post-Brexit. Sleaford Mods dissect heavy topics in their characteristic spoken word/electro-post-punk style on the album which also contains guest appeareances from Dry Cleaning’s Florence Shaw and Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell.

Since breaking through in 2014 with Divide and Exit, vocalist Jason Williaimson and producer Andrew Fearn have been both notorious and beloved for not pulling any punches. They dish out social analysis so bluntly that they have become frontrunners for an entire generation of punk-inspired acts, offering musical diagnostics of society surrounding them.

Expect being shaken and yelled at when Sleaford Mods take the stage at NorthSide with their terrificly revolting electropunk.
