The phenomenal and innovative band is the first headliner for next year’s edition of the Danish festival NorthSide

It’s been eight years since Radiohead last visited Denmark, and since then they have topped the wish list of both audience and bookers at NorthSide. Therefore, it is amazing to now be able to reveal that the legendary music phenomenon will headline next year, and that they will play the closing show Sunday night at NorthSide 2017.

Since the release of the debut album “Pablo Honey” in 1992, Radiohead have taken music lovers the world over on a fantastic journey, which has included the masterpiece “OK Computer”, the surprising benchmark album “Kid A”, the technologically challenging “In Rainbows”, and most recently “A Moon Shaped Pool “, which shows that the 30-year-old band is by no means done surprising and challenging and just as importantly providing music for their fans, which will live with them forever.

– We are proud and honoured that Radiohead has agreed to play NorthSide this summer. It is a dream come true for us and we look forward to sharing it with our audience this summer.

The spokesperson for NorthSide, John Fogde, also reveals that the band will play a full set during the festival. So the stage is set for a truly unique and wonderful evening in the company of Radiohead, which is not only great for NorthSide, but for the entire city of Aarhus.

– It will be fantastic end to NorthSide 2017 with such a large international act as Radiohead, says The Mayor of Aarhus, Jacob Bundsgaard.

– NorthSide in itself and especially combined with Radiohead show is a strong contribution to strengthening the city’s international music profile. So I am not only delighted on behalf of Aarhus as a music city, but also because such large events in the city is helping support the city’s growth, development, and tourism.

– That is also the reason that we in the Municipal Event Forum have given a dispensation so Radiohead can play a little longer than normal between the night of the 11th and 12th of June 2017, says Jacob Bundsgaard and continues: – And in addition it’s great to see that one of the city’s major music players in this way chooses to contribute to all the experiences we can look forward to next year, when Aarhus becomes the European Capital of Culture for 2017.
