Bastille and Thomas Helmig will play NorthSide
NorthSide adds Veronica Maggio and Phlake to line-up as well
Acts like Radiohead, Run The Jewels, and MØ have already announced their arrival for NorthSide 2017 and they are now joined by four acts that are guaranteed to bring the audience together for a sing-along in front of the big stages.
Bastille broke through in 2013, when the single “Pompeii” went to number two in the chart at home and number five in the US. The song’s popularity continued for so long that a year and a half later it was hailed as the most streamed song in England ever with more than 26 million streams by Spotify – and globally it has now hit over 400 million plays. The success continues with the album “Wild World”, which went to number one in the UK and so far has generated the hit “Good Grief”. The band is also terrific on stage, and especially frontman Dan Smith is riveting to watch
The same can in good conscience be said about Swedish singer Veronica Maggio, who since the release of “Vatten och bröd” in 2006 has been a fixture on the Danish radio stations. Hits like “Måndagsbarn”, “Välkommen in”, “We mot världen”, and especially “Jeg kommer ” are gripping pop hits that always delivered with great passion by the Swedish pop-Drottning, so the will be a guaranteed party.
Bastille and Veronica Maggio can both be experienced Friday, June 9th at NorthSide 2017.
The most popular Danish pop singer of all time will this summer be returning home to Aarhus to give his first concert at NorthSide. Since 1985, Thomas Helmig has delivered more pop classics to the Danish songbook than anyone else, and we are extremely excited to see what the man behind ”Nu hvor du har brændt mig af”, ”Kære maskine”, ”Stupid Man”, ”Smelte et isbjerg”, and so many other classics has in the bag for when he steps up on his home turf with his amazing band.
When Phlake played at P6 BEAT Stage earlier this year, the area around the scene quickly reached maximum capacity, so hundreds of fans had to go in vain. So it was only natural to invite the band, which earlier this month won a full five DMA statuettes, back to NorthSide and place them on one of the large stages.
Thomas Helmig and Phlake can both be experienced Saturday, June 10th at NorthSide 2017.
Friday, NorthSide in cooperation with Radisson Blu Aarhus, Scandic Aarhus City, and Comwell Aarhus started sales of NorthSide Rooms. The exclusive hotel packages includes entry to NorthSide 2017, a double room, and official NorthSide 2017 merchandise, and already one of the hotels are close to selling out. Sales of regular NorthSide tickets are currently beyond all expectations, so it bodes really well for the upcoming festival.
The program for NorthSide 2017 looks as follows: Radiohead, Run The Jewels, Bastille, Veronica Maggio, Thomas Helmig, Moe, Phlake, Liss, and Bisse.
