Barry Can’t Swim is a Scottish produver, DJ and multiinstrumentalist from Edinbugh known for blending jazz, house, afrobeats and electronic elements. His sound covers everything from melodic, jazz-inspired passages to deep house rhythms and it has quickly made him one of the most exciting new names on the international stage for electronic music.

Barry Can’t Swim released his debut album When Will We Land? in October 2023 to critical acclaim. It was nominated for the 2024 Mercury Prize and was highlighted as one of the best albums of the year in music magazines such as Billboard and Clash.

The Scottish producer has the ability to create euphoric as well as nuanced compositions and was especially noticed by PopMatters, who ranked When Will We Land? as the best electronic album of 2023 and dubbed it a “tour-de-force of 11 tracks that are so perfectly edited and composed that not a single note is wasted.”

I December of 2023, Barry Can’t Swim was awarded DJ Mag’s “Breakthrough Producer”-prize, and in 2024, he took his groundbreaking tracks to an ever wider audience by playing prestigious festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury.
