Tove Lo, Suspekt and L.O.C. are also among today’s eight new names on their way to Ådalen

A really strong start for NorthSide with names like Bon Iver, Major Lazer and The Streets is now being followed up with eight new amazing names including one of the hottest R&B names right now.

Texan Khalid has four songs on the American Top 100 this week including the two giant hits “Eastside (with Benny Blanco and Halsey)” and “Love Lies”. The songs follow up on hits like “Location”, “Silence” and “Young, Dumb & Broke”, each of which has more than 600,000 streams on Spotify. The Grammy-nominated R&B singer, along with hits in his own name, has also collaborated on hits for Logic, Marshmello, Calvin Harris and Shawn Mendes. When Khalid, as a 19-year-old, released “American Teen”, the Rolling Stone Magazine called the album “the freshest and most surprising debut album of the year”, and his first Danish concert was upgraded to Tap1, even before ticket sales were started. Khalid is one of the world’s hottest young names right now, and this summer, for the first time, he brings his pensive and reflective R&B to NorthSide.

Khalid will play on Thursday June 6 at NorthSide 2019.

In 2013, Foals went from being a critic favorite to being one of the most popular rock names in England. With the release of “Holy Fire”, the band secured a nomination for this year’s Mercury Prize for the second time, and both the album and the single “Inhaler” were voted best of the year by NME, while Q Magazine voted them as Best Live Act. Among other things, the award followed an excellent concert as the headliner of the Glastonbury Festival that year, and two years later, Q Magazine proclaimed Foals as Best Act in the World Today! In Denmark, there has also been plenty of praise for the band, among others from GAFFA, who gave five stars to the band’s latest album, “What Went Down”, which they called “At once fragile and aggressive and really, really good”. Foals recently played in Denmark in 2016, so it will be a welcomed reunion.

Foals will play on Thursday June 6 at NorthSide 2019.

There are not many of the old grunge bands left, but fortunately we still have Alice in Chains. The band has released three albums since William DuVall joined in 2006 as a replacement for the late Layne Staley, and the singer has managed to lift an exceptionally heavy legacy in an impressive way. However, the band is still led by Jerry Cantrell, whose harmonies and guitar solos are sharper than ever and are essential in classics such as “Rooster”, “Nutshell”, “Would?” and “Man in the Box”. The groundbreaking and influential band has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and this summer, for the first time, puts the road past Aarhus.

Alice in Chains will play on Thursday June 6 at NorthSide 2019.

The Swedish pop star Tove Lo has since the breakthrough with “Habits (Stay High)” in 2014 mixed crazy captivating pop with provocative videos and a clear modern feminist approach. This is evident on hits such as “Talking Body”, “Cool Girl”, “Disco Tits” and “Bitches”, where the immersive electropop both challenges and excites. On stage, Tove Lo is a colorful and extremely energetic performer, who will definitely create a party in Ådalen.

Tove Lo will play on Thursday June 6 at NorthSide 2019.

L.O.C. is one of the biggest names in Danish music. The popularity has grown steadily since the release of the debut album “Dominologi”, and he is the rare combination of artist and entertainer who, with a huge and loyal fanbase, both draws good reviews and great sales figures on his releases. Hits like “Momentet”, “Undskyld”, “Frk. Escobar” and “Marquis” speak clearly, and the latest chapter in the story of L.O.C. will be written in April, where Liam is current with his ninth album. Thus, completely new music will be ready when L.O.C. visits NorthSide for the first time, and it is perfectly okay to have high expectations for his first festival concert is his hometown.

L.O.C.will play on Friday June 7 at NorthSide 2019.

Last time Suspekt visited NorthSide, they closed the blue stage on the second day of the festival with a concert unlike anything ever seen before in Ådalen. Provocative monster hits were delivered in a power demonstration that included a large number of guest performances for a surprising and profoundly entertaining show. Therefore, Suspekt is always welcome at NorthSide, and it will definitely be another amazing experience when they return to the blue stage.

Suspekt will play Saturday June 8 at NorthSide 2019.

The singer Emilie Molsted performs under the name Jada and in a short time she has gained an enormous interest around her talent because of the songs “Pure” and “Keep Cool”. Jada’s two pure pop songs make the future look promising, and the stylish songwriter and producer has shown at her concerts that she has both a sublime vocal, strong material and the ability to captivate her audience.

Jada will play Friday June 7 at NorthSide 2019.

The Alstrup brothers from Thy, together with their band Jonah Blacksmith, have taken a victory lap around Danish Festivals and venues over the last three years with stories of their family from Northwest Jutland. The roots are now being explored in a new and innovative film concert, where music and stories meet in a documentary about grandfather Johannes Blacksmith, which is shown behind the band for the concerts. The acclaimed film concert is a beautiful insight into a unique family history, and the combination of good stories and great music is like no other that has ever been presented at NorthSide.

Jonah Blacksmith Film Concert can be experienced on Saturday June 8 at NorthSide 2019.
