The psychedelic rock band and the popular rap trio are on the poster along with six other great names including First Aid Kit and Kurt Vile & The Violators.

Now, the line-up for NorthSide 2019 is certainly beginning to take shape, and the latest additions are a really strong mix of indie, singer/songwriter names as well as urban/rap, and a truly unique Aarhus show with the legendary Gnags.

Atlanta has one of the strongest hip hop scenes in the world. The latest story of success from The ATL is the trio Migos. Takeoff, Quavo and Offset have in their short career already been behind sensational tracks, which have given them attention far beyond the traditional hip hop environment. The first was “Look at My Dab”, which brought dabbing from Atlanta’s underground out to the masses to a point where Hillary Clinton, Emmanuel Macron and Prince Sverre of Norway were joining the trend. Following that hype, “Bad and Boujee” hit the top of the American chart and was such a huge phenomenon that Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover was thanking the trio when he received a Golden Globe for his TV series “Atlanta”.

Migos releases the album, “Culture III” in early 2019, and not surprisingly, the band’s fourth album is among the most hyped releases. When Migos hits Aarhus this summer it will not only be the trio’s first visit on a Danish festival but potentially also the rowdiest show Ådalen has ever seen.

Migos is playing at NorthSide 2019 on Friday, June 7th.

Kevin Parker went from being popular among critics to world famous when Tema Impala in 2015 released the album “Currents”. Songs as “Cause I’m a Man”, “Eventually” and “The less I know the Better” are still solid fixtures on P6 Beat’s playlists, and “Let It Happen” has just been chosen for a huge advertising campaign for an American car brand. The band is not less impressive when they play their psychedelic sound and visuals on the world biggest stages. This, together with the great expectations of the band´s upcoming album, is among the reasons why they are announced as one of the headliners at the popular Coachella festival. But there is no reason for taking the journey all the way to California this year. Phenomenal Tame Impala has been a popular choice on the wishlist among the NorthSide guests, and now, they are finally coming to Aarhus.

Tame Impala is playing Thursday, June 6th at NorthSide 2019.

Amazing songwriting and inspiration from a classic American sound bind First Aid Kit and Kurt Vile & the Violators together, and for many years both have visited Denmark with great success for sold out and critic acclaimed concerts. None of them has previously visited NorthSide, but after both published very strong releases in 2018 the timing for a visit is perfect.

Both First Aid Kit and Kurt Vile & the Violators play Saturday on NorthSide 2019.

Kaytranada has only one album release, but “99.9%” is also a strong release, which was emphasized when the man behind, Louis Kevin Celestin, was able to win both a Polaris
Music Prize and a Juno Award for his debut album. On the album, the Canadian producer was supported by names as Craig David, Anderson Paak, Syd and Little Dragon. They helped Kaytranada mix his electronic elements with funk, soul and hip hop.
English Georgia started her music career as a drummer for Kate Tempest, but also managed to sing on Leftfield’s album “Alternative Light Source” (Georgia is the daughter of Neil Barnes from Leftfield) before releasing her debut album in 2015. Here, she drew on her background in electronic music and mixed it with American hip hop like Missy Elliott and Ludacris. To all this, she puts on a multiethnic North-London filter. Georgia achieves great success with the single “Started Out”, which bodes well for the upcoming album.

Kaytranada plays Thursday, June 6th, and Georgia plays Saturday, June 8th at NorthSide 2019.
