The two phenomenal bands are now on the poster along with P3-winner Ukendt Kunstner, Mercury Prize-nominated C Duncan and the crazy southern state rapper Yelawolf

In the second round of disclosures for NorthSide 2016 you will find five critically acclaimed artists, ranging from the grandiose and experimental to the edgy and urban.

In less than two months Baltimore duo Beach House released the albums “Depression Cherry” and “Thank Your Lucky Stars” and are thus behind two of the greatest releases in 2015. Inspired by names like Mazzy Star and the Cocteau Twins, the duo has made six albums to date, all of which are filled with evocative and atmospheric songs that are most often described as Dream Pop, and quite impressively all the releases received highly praised reviews all over the world.
Las weekend they visited a sold out Store Vega in Copenhagen, where the duo had been expanded to a quartet, and the concert was called a “truly sublime experience” in a six star review in GAFFA. There was also praise for the duo’s “raw energy and unadulterated gumption”, which we look forward to presenting in Ådalen this summer.

The last time Wilco visited Denmark, Thomas Treo from Ekstra Bladet called his concert “yet another powerful performance” and in a six star review he praised the band for “a phenomenal ability to lift the repertoire even higher on the stage.” It says a lot when you have published masterpieces as “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” and the Grammy-winning “A Ghost is Born” and in general have kept an incredibly high level across nine studio albums that took the band from Alternative Country to now being one of the most unpredictable and fascinating names of the American rock scene.

When Yelawolf got a contract with Eminem’s record label Shady Records in 2011, he had already sent out a series of mixtapes where “Trunk Muzik” from 2010 gave him a huge fanbase. The fanbase backed him up the following year when he released the album “Radioactive”, which was given excellent reviews by hip hop magazines such as The Source and XXL. And indeed it is hard not to be impressed when the catchy tracks are filled with guest performers like Eminem, Diplo, Mystikal, Kid Rock, Lil Jon and Killer Mike from Run the Jewels.
Earlier this year “Love Story” was released and generated hits such as “Best Friend” and the duet with Eminem, “Till It’s Gone”, which will knock Ådalen over backwards, when Yelawolf steps on stage with his unique blend of country, rock and hip hop!

He will be joined by Ukendt Kunstner who has just won the P3 Award after winning the P3 Talent last year. The duo hardly need any introduction after their success with hits such as “Neonlys”, “Alting/Ingenting” and especially “Stein Bagger” who lent his name to their highly acclaimed Denmark tour.

This round of disclosures ends with Mercury Prize-nominated Scotsman C Duncan, who has a background in classical music, and while studying at the conservatory, composed a number of works that have been performed by classical choirs and ensembles. His debut album “Architect” has a classical touch to it with fine arrangements and sophisticated songs, that have made reviewers draw parallels to Sufjan Stevens and Fleet Foxes.

The newly disclosed names brings it to a total of eleven names on the poster, and the preliminary line-up for NorthSide 2016 are as follows: Beach House, Beck, Bernhoft, C Duncan, Luke Graham, Malk de Koijn, The Minds of 99, Ukendt Kunstner, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wilco and Yelawolf.
