- Friday

“People really need this band” is what The Guardian wrote about the Irish group The Murder Capital five years ago.
And the need for such a band is certainly not any less. Over a strong backdrop of classic and high-quality post-punk riffs and rhythms, lead singer James McGovern sings about mental health, vulnerability, politics, and the harsh life lived by many of their peers in their hometown of Dublin.
The Murder Capital has, among others by The Guardian, been compared to bands like Idles, Fontaines D.C., and even Joy Division and Pixies. The music is dark and raw, yet simultaneously melodic and catchy. With 3 studio albums in their catalog, the group is a tight-knit, yet wild, quintet that also knows how to present themselves visually – according to themselves, they dress like ‘Cillian Murphy with a hangover.’
The Murder Capital will undoubtedly give you an intense concert experience when they perform on Friday at NorthSide 2025 in June.
