We are ready with this year’s menu!
From falafels to fine dining. From Thailand to Mexico to food on a campfire.
NorthSide is ready with this year’s full menu, which also includes innovative collabs between the festival and small producers who need a helping hand. Aarhus’ strong bar scene is of course also represented on the site this year.
Today, we present our food and bar program for 2023, and once again, guests can expect a fully green menu that satisfies the craving for a juicy festival burger, a portable pizza slice, crispy fries, sensational tacos, boozy milkshakes, and everything in between . On the bar side, you can look forward to old friends like the champagne bar, the gin bar, and the cocktail bar, as well as several new and exciting collaborations between the festival and small producers.
Aarhus’ favorites on NorthSide
NorthSide’s guests expect to meet their favorite places at the festival, and their wish is our command. You can thus quench your thirst in the champagne bar run by Sjovinisten or go hard at it at Krystallin, where the owners of Bardok serve vodka shots and pickles. In the garden at Njord Gin Club, you can get a NorthSide ’23 signature cocktail, which the local gin distillery has made in collaboration with the festival. And of course, you can always quench your thirst in an ice cold organic Tuborg. On the food side, guests can look forward to a five-course tapas menu at Restaurant Kolo, falafels from Faour, handmade empanadas from Lima and crispy pizzas from the popular Pizzaboys.
If you want to make it extra special, you can book one of the few seats that will soon go on sale in Restaurant Moment’s NorthSide version of their critically acclaimed, Michelin-recognized restaurant, and Restaurant Tiende offers an eight-course banquet in their VIP restaurant. The club scene at NorthSide will also be handled by experienced capacities when the people behind Den Sidste offer all-night dancing at Paradis, and Klub22 is resurrected at the festival.
Collabs that give an extra boost
We have a tradition of finding local producers of food and drink who need an extra push to go big. Oles Gård had their debut at NorthSide, as did Norlund Cocktails and Njord Gin. This year, guests at NorthSide can enjoy Nova Blomme – a Japanese plum liqueur that might be the new Aperol Spritz. You can also enjoy Æblefald’s cider made from local apples from the Aarhus region and apples that grow around the festival site. Finally, this year NorthSide is launching a so-called sour beer in collaboration with Jacobsen Øl. It will be named NorthSide Sublime and can be purchased at the Beer Barn bar.
“We are extremely proud of our food and bar program again this year”, says Peter Skoven, NorthSide’s Director for food, drinks and atmosphere. “We have a wide selection for our guests, and I can guarantee that there is something for every taste. Like always, we help some of the small up-and-coming producers, while still offering the big attractions that we know are audience successes. And nowhere have we compromised on quality and sustainability – this is still a fundamental value for us”.
Students and associations are involved too
Not only Aarhus’ restaurants and bars are represented at the festival. Aarhus’ diverse students and associations are also involved. There are bars run by Aarhus Mechanical Engineering School, The Social Studies and Sports Studies at Aarhus University, Studenterlauget, Studenterhus Aarhus, Via University College, and the engineering students. The volunteers at the festival come largely from Bakken Bears, Aarhus Fremad, Skanderborg Aahus Handball and and Aarhus HC handball
