Access/Security

As a volunteer on our entrance team, you will have the honor of being the first to welcome the festival’s guests. The entrance team is responsible for managing the guests’ access to the festival.

In your role as the face of the festival, you contribute to creating the positive atmosphere that greets guests as they step onto the festival grounds.

Tasks may include:

  • Checking tickets and wristbands to ensure everyone has valid entry
  • Putting wristbands on guests at the entrance
  • Conducting body searches to ensure everyone’s safety

As part of this team, you help give the festival’s guests the best welcome and send them off with a burst of great energy 🙌

NOTE! You will be standing a lot during your shift, which can be challenging if you have issues with your knees, back, or similar.

When you’re at a concert, there are many people around the stage working hard to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both the audience and the artists. One of the key roles is being a volunteer in the Frontzone.

What is the Frontzone?
The Frontzone is the area between the stage and the audience, where volunteers work closely with experienced security personnel and crowd safety coordinators. It’s an important role that helps create safety throughout the concert 🎤🤘

Tasks may include:

  • Assisting with audience safety and ensuring that everyone has a good experience.
  • Working with security staff to handle any situations that may arise.
  • Helping guests out of the crowd in case someone is feeling ill.

You will be placed between the stage and the audience, helping to maintain safety during the concerts – and don’t worry! You will, of course, get an introduction to all the tasks and also lots of assistance from our professional security team.

NOTE! You must be fluent in Danish. You will be standing a lot during your shift, which can be tough if you have issues with your knees, back, or similar.

As a Gatekeeper, you will play an important role in managing emergency exits and gates at the festival grounds. You’ll be visible to the festival guests, making you the one they’ll approach with any questions. Tasks may include:

  • Checking wristbands and ensuring that only authorized individuals have access
  • Ensuring top-notch safety around emergency exits
  • Being visibly present on the festival grounds

You will be an essential part of the festival’s safety, and your efforts will be appreciated by the festival crew, fellow volunteers, and guests.

Are you ready for a versatile role where flexibility and enthusiasm are key? As a Runner, you’ll be an important part of the festival’s behind-the-scenes operations, taking on a variety of tasks.

Tasks may include:

  • Transporting items around the festival site
  • Setting up signs and other practical tasks
  • Distributing snacks and coffee to fellow volunteers
  • Keeping the Production Lounge organized, including restocking coffee, light cleaning, and ad hoc tasks

As a Runner, you’ll also have the chance to drive golf carts, helping you move around quickly and ensure everything runs smoothly 🛻

Your role is essential to making sure the festival runs like clockwork, and that everyone involved has an amazing experience. So hop on board and RUN-FORREST-RUN – the festival needs you! 🎉

Would you like to help ensure that everything is in place and running smoothly at the festival site? Then this is the team for you!

As part of Security Before/After, you play a key role in creating a safe and well-functioning festival area. You’ll handle a variety of practical tasks that ensure the festival runs seamlessly.

Tasks may include:

  • Setting up the entrance area
  • Organizing and managing bicycle parking
  • Placing fire safety equipment around the site
  • Installing signs and other necessary signage

This role is perfect for someone with an eye for detail who enjoys practical tasks that create structure and safety 🚧

Join a team where it’s perfectly okay to point and stand in the way a bit. As a traffic volunteer, you help direct traffic and check permits.

In this role, you contribute to ensuring smooth traffic flow and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly. There is room for collaboration and support across the roads 🚦

Tasks may include:

  • Directing traffic and ensuring that rules are followed
  • Checking permits for entry
  • Supporting your team members in maintaining a safe area

You will play an important role in ensuring the safety and security of both guests and your fellow volunteers.

Please note that we help each other across different areas, so it’s a good idea to be flexible and have a positive attitude. Your main task will, of course, be traffic, but there may be a need for assistance in other areas as well. 🌟

Artist

On this team, you will help build and dismantle the artist village, giving you a unique opportunity to contribute to the festival’s setup.

In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks that create a dynamic and enjoyable work atmosphere. The main task is to create an inviting area for our artists 🤲

Tasks may include:

  • Painting various materials
  • Lifting and setting up tables and benches
  • Cleaning in the artist village and other practical tasks

NOTE! It can be a physically demanding job with lots of walking during the shift. Some of the tasks will likely involve lifting, climbing ladders, and more

Atmosphere

When the construction of NorthSide kicks off, there’s a whole army of dedicated individuals working behind the scenes to create the perfect festival site – one of these groups is the volunteer team Atmosfære.

What is Atmosphere? As part of Atmosphere, you jump in wherever needed, and you’re not afraid to get a little dirt under your nails or paint on your fingers 🔨👷‍♂️.

Tasks may include:

  • Setting up tables and benches as well as building creative seating.
  • Hanging signs and installing lighting to create the perfect festival atmosphere.
  • Painting walls, bars, and other materials.
  • After the festivities, we pack everything up, stack it neatly, and help clear the site.

Beverage Warehouse

In this role, it’s important that you’re ready to get to work and not be afraid of physical work. You’ll be part of the team that sets up and packs our beverage warehouse before/after the festival. The beverage warehouse is the heart of all beverage distribution, so here you’ll feel important! 😎

Tasks may include:
– Unpacking and preparing beverages for the bars
– Packing beverages for distribution
– Keeping the warehouse area organized

If you enjoy physical work and like the idea of skipping the gym for a few days, this is the perfect role for you!

NOTE! You will be walking a lot throughout the day and evening, and there will be lifting during the task.
–  Practical clothing and good shoes are therefore highly recommended.

As a volunteer at the beverage warehouse, you will have the chance to be at the heart of beverage distribution. This area is central to ensuring that all bars are well stocked, so guests can enjoy their drinks. So get ready to feel really important! 😉

  • Packing drinks for distribution
  • Transporting and delivering drinks to the bars
  • Ensuring that the warehouse is organized

Your role at the beverage warehouse is crucial for keeping the festivities going, and you will also have the opportunity to learn more about the logistics behind the festival.

Business and Partnership

When the festival takes place, we have a dedicated team to assist our partners and business guests throughout the event. It’s the perfect team for those who love making a difference and always have a smile on their face 🫶

Your role is essential in ensuring a great experience for our partners and business guests, whether during quiet moments or busy periods.

Tasks may include:

  • Restocking refreshments and snacks for the VIP guests.
  • Light cleaning and tidying up to keep the area neat.
  • Preparing various items to ensure a great experience for the guests.

You will experience both calm moments where you can focus on the details and busy periods where your smile and service are crucial in creating a pleasant atmosphere ✨

NOTE! This is a physically demanding role that involves a lot of walking during your shift, and there will likely be lifting involved with the tasks.

As part of this team, you will play an important role in setting up and taking down the festival’s Business- and Partnership area. The tasks are varied and require practical skills and a can-do attitude. 💪

Tasks may include:

  • Painting and preparing the areas.
  • Cleaning and general tidying up.
  • Other craft-related tasks.
  • Moving and setting up tables and equipment.

This role is perfect for someone who loves to get stuck in and be part of a team that ensures the festival looks its best from start to finish.

Catering

Here, you will have the opportunity to pamper our guests with delicious food and ensure that they have an unforgettable experience.

Your tasks may include:

  • Serving tasty food to the artists
  • Handling the dishes to keep the kitchen tidy and organized
  • Assisting in the kitchen with various tasks
  • Ensuring that the area around the artists is always inviting and clean.

NOTE! This can be a team where there is a lot of fluctuation between busy and quiet periods.

As a volunteer on this team, you’ll be part of the group that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our artists.

You will help ensure that the kitchen and restaurant in the Artist Village are inviting and ready for the artists’ arrival, so they can enjoy their meals in cozy and well-organized surroundings 🫶

Tasks may include:

  • Setting up tables and benches
    Small decoration tasks
    Preparing the kitchen in the Artist Village

    With your help, the Artist Village will become a place where artists feel welcome and comfortable.

  • Ensuring that the area around the crew and volunteers is always inviting and clean.

Lockers

Are you service-minded and good at being smiling and friendly when answering questions? If so, then the wardrobe is just for you!

The wardrobe consists of self-service lockers that guests can access themselves. Your primary task is to assist guests with any questions or problems that may arise. You will collaborate with the company responsible for the lockers so you can get answers to the technical details 🙋‍♂️

NOTE! You must speak both Danish and English. You will be standing a lot during your shift, which can be tough if you have issues with your knees, back, or similar.

Merch

As a volunteer in the merchandise booth, you become a central part of the festival’s energy. You’ll be responsible for selling the artists’ merchandise to the festival’s many guests 👚

Tasks may include:

  • Offering advice and guidance to guests about their purchases
  • Handling payments and keeping the booth organized
  • Restocking various merchandise items

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to play an important role in the festival and bring joy to thousands of guests with products that extend their festival experience.

Mugs and Jugs

We exclusively use reusable cups and jugs as part of our efforts for sustainability and the fight against unnecessary single-use plastic. This ambitious approach requires that we actually collect and reuse – and here, you play an important role.

Tasks may include:

  • Packing and delivering clean cups and jugs to the bars
  • Collecting and packing the used cups and jugs

If you enjoy physical work and like the idea of skipping the gym for a few days, this is the perfect role for you. With your efforts, you help us ensure that our sustainability initiative becomes a success ♻️

NOTE! It can be a physically demanding task with many steps during your shift. Several of the tasks will most likely also involve lifting.

Resource

If sustainability is important to you and you want to help ensure that our festival leaves as little trace as possible, come and be a part of our Resource Team 💚

What is the Resource Team?
As part of the Resource Team, you will help ensure that the festival area always looks neat and inviting.

Tasks may include:

  • Sorting and collecting waste.
  • Managing resources and materials.
  • Guiding our guests so they know where the waste should go.

Join our green team and help us create a sustainable festival!

NOTE! This is a physically demanding role that involves a lot of walking during your shift, and there will likely be lifting involved with the tasks.

If you have a big heart for the environment and want to help guide our guests toward optimal waste sorting, then you’re the one we’re looking for! Come join us in getting everything ready before we open the gates 💚

As Resource Before/After, you’ll help set up and take down our Resource Yard.

Tasks may include:

  • Placing trash bins and containers
  • Setting up sorting stations and signage
  • Carrying out other practical tasks

Site Production

When you volunteer at Production Check-In, you are the festival’s first welcoming committee for crew, volunteers, and suppliers. Your role is crucial in creating a positive atmosphere right from the start!

What is Production Check-In?
Production Check-In is the area where all arrivals at the festival are managed.

Tasks may include:

  • Checking in and welcoming crew, volunteers, and suppliers
  • Guiding and assisting those who arrive
  • Distributing parking permits
  • Ensuring that the production vehicle has everything needed

As part of Production Check-In, you contribute to a great start to the festival, making sure everyone feels welcome and well-prepared!

As a volunteer in site production, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the setup and takedown of various elements on the festival grounds.

In this role, tasks are diverse, so you can expect a varied workday with activities that require physical handling.

Tasks may include:

  • Setting up fences, structures, and other facilities
  • Light cleaning and tidying up
  • Transporting and handling materials

You should enjoy working with your hands and getting things done, but there’s no requirement to be a professional craftsman or super strong – we have tasks for everyone 🫶

NOTE! This is a physically demanding role that involves a lot of walking during your shift, and there will be lifting involved with the tasks.

‘If ‘service’ is your middle name, and you love to say ‘we can sort that out’, then you are the perfect candidate for our Warehouse, which serves as the festival’s internal storage.

What is Warehouse?
Warehouse is the festival’s internal storage area, where all the necessary equipment and materials for the festival are kept. You will help ensure that our team has everything they need to carry out their tasks effectively.

Tasks may include:

  • Assisting in finding and distributing equipment such as radios, tools, and other materials
  • Ensuring that the storage area is organized and easily accessible
  • To receive and sort returned equipment

As part of the Warehouse team, you will gain a unique insight into how the festival operates behind the scenes while making a valuable contribution!

Stage Production

When you’re at a concert, there are many people working hard behind the scenes to create an amazing experience for both the audience and the artists. One of the key roles is the Stagehand.

What is a Stagehand?
A stagehand is responsible for moving and handling the artists’ equipment and instruments before and after the concerts. It’s an important role that ensures all gear is ready and in place, allowing the concert to run smoothly and without delays 🎸

Tasks may include:

  • Transporting instruments, amplifiers, and other equipment to and from the stage
  • Assisting with set changes between different artists, including setting up microphones, stage props, and other technical equipment
  • Working closely with technicians, artists, and other volunteers to make sure everything goes as planned

Stagehands make a big difference by ensuring that all the technical aspects of a concert are handled professionally. Without them, it would be impossible to execute concerts with the same quality and timing 🥁

NOTE! This is a physically demanding role that involves a lot of walking during your shift, and there will be lifting involved with the tasks.

There may be longer waiting times between concerts if there is no need to move equipment on or off the stage. Especially final load-outs after the last artist can take time, as they often have the largest tour productions. It is therefore important that everyone cooperates to complete the task quickly and efficiently

SWAT

The festival’s SWAT team is ready to tackle any challenges that may arise. Curious about what it means to be part of this dynamic team? Here’s an insight into the role:

SWAT handles a wide range of tasks at the festival, from managing sudden busy periods in certain areas to unexpected problems and ad hoc tasks that may come up.

Tasks may include:

  • Transporting materials
  • Helping the bars during busy periods
  • Assisting in securing the area during challenging weather conditions
  • Helping ensure there are no bottlenecks or dangerous situations

As part of the SWAT team, you become an invaluable part of the festival. The flexibility and ability to handle varying tasks make a big difference, and you get the opportunity to experience many different aspects of festival operations.
