Jazz, punk, and afrobeats spiced up with a touch of pop, hip hop, and dance, delivered by two saxophonists and a drummer—that’s the recipe for one of the wildest live bands in the Nordics: Smag På Dig Selv.

The band’s name is just as captivating as their euphoric, high-tempo tracks, which leave audiences drenched in sweat and in a hypnotic trance. The three friends behind these imaginative and energetic sounds are Albert Holbjerg on drums, and Thorbjørn Øllgaard and Oliver Lauridsen on saxophones. The trio’s quirky song titles, such as “Fuck, the Inspectors Are Coming” and “White Men Play Afrobeats”, reflect the ecstatic rush their music delivers. In short—this is the soundtrack to the peak moments of your life.

The three friends from the Free Town of Christiania released their debut single “Dunkelkraft” in 2020, followed by an EP of the same name. Last year, the band released their debut album “SPDS”, consisting of an A-side with live recordings and a B-side featuring more experimental productions. What ties the entire album together are tracks that encourage both partying and political activism. From the beginning, the group had a clear vision to challenge the traditional concert experience—and critic after critic confirms that they’ve succeeded.

Smag På Dig Selv brings an inexhaustible, techno-inspired energy as they smash through genre boundaries and throw audiences onto the dancefloor during their critically acclaimed shows. It’s a party—and NS25 will be no exception!
