He’s been an active DJ for a decade now, and yet no one really knows who’s hiding behind the characteristic golden bird mask that’s become Claptone’s trademark.
We do know that he’s come out of the Berlin underground scene, and that he’s brilliant at making house productions for every mood. In fact, he’s so good, that people tend to surrender themselves to the music once he goes on stage and completely forget to care about who’s behind the mask.
We also know that Claptone is a busy man in showbiz with more than 260 shows around the world each year. The demand for his remixes is also high, and he’s remixed for noteworthy acts like Depeche Mode, New Order, Disclosure, Gorillaz and Faithless as well as Sir Elton John and Dua Lipa.
He’s won ’Best House Artist’ at the Ibiza DJ Awards three years in a row, and reached ‘Highest House Artist’ at DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ Poll for four consecutive years.
