In 2006, Christian Nielsen found himself in a club, when the resident DJ played Kerri Chandler’s “Oblivion”. From that moment, he knew that he wanted to make house music.

The Danish DJ and producer does things his own way and he doesn’t pander to the masses. Instead, he’s carved his own successful niche in a constant jostle for dancefloor play.

His sound is a classic one, and one which has already made him popular – most notably on Kompakt, Ellum, and Of Unsound Mind to mention a few.

While his sound is rather classic, his story isn’t. He’s had no musical training, and no musical family. He worked at an office by day and developed his musical craft by night. And that’s the kind of determination and hard work that has brought him to where he is today.

A firm advocate for dancefloor-ready house, Nielsen is one of the most interesting producers to arrive on our radar in recent times, and if you’re a fan of electronic music, you’ll no doubt be aware that we’re dealing with a man whose stock is firmly on the rise.

Christian Nielsen will play Thursday June 1 at NorthSide 2023.
