UK singer, songwriter and producer Cavetown already started making music in his teens, writing and recording in his bedroom. He released his first tracks through Bandcamp at the age of 16 and quickly one thing led to another: After the release of his 2018 album Lemon Boy he found himself with a record deal, sold out shows in the US and UK, and gigs at festivals like Reading & Leeds and Lollapalooza.

He describes his music by calling it a weird dynamic: “because a lot of the time I’m taking something that it’s hard for me to admit even to myself, then putting it into a song and sharing it with the entire world,” as he puts it.

And there’s a lot of people receiving his honest and most deep reflections. He’s got more than a million followers on Instagram and almost eight million monthly listeners on Spotify who resonates with his songs about everything from depression and anxiety to loving your cat.

Cavetown’s sound is smoothly mixing lo-fi bedroom-pop, acoustic guitar and punk-pop. The 2022 album worm food was written with his concerts in mind and maybe that’s one of the reasons why he’s grown to become an extremely popular live act. When he last played in Denmark, his show was sold out in about an hour.

NME has called him a “bedroom pop hero building a worldwide community” and he’s earned the admiration from the likes of The 1975, chloe moriondo and beabadoobee (who he’s recently teamed up with for his early-2022 release “Fall in Love With A Girl”)

Cavetown is a key figure within the wave of youthfull, queer bedroom pop and we’re honored to be a part of his personal and intimate universe at NorthSide 2023!

Cavetown will play Thursday 1 June at NorthSide 2023.
