Hubert Ameme Sodogandji aka Benin-born DJ AMÉMÉ mixes his West African roots and culture with contemporary house, when he incorporates everything from voodoo culture, tribal percussion and spiritual vocals to French house, deep house and tech.
It all began when Hubert and his siblings competed in putting together the best mixtapes to accompany their trip to school. Whoever presented the best selection of tunes earned the honor to soundtrack the trip. Later on, AMÉMÉ actually grew to become an acknowledged hip hop artist in Benin, but eventually moved to New York to pursue his dream of becoming the praised DJ, he is today.
Now, he splits his time between Brooklyn and Berlin when he’s not travelling around the world with his eclectic, intoxicating, and, most importantly, positive live sets – now bringing him all the way to Denmark and NorthSide!
